چکیده

Anatomy related heterogeneous discontinuities in material properties strongly influence human soft tissue behavior under mechanical load. We present a parametric model of the aortic root, which defines multi-material surface regions for advanced tissue property control and supports patient-specific model refinement. Our results strongly indicate improvements for in-silico clinical application experiments using multi-material simulation.

Simulation of the effect of sub- micron interface roughness on the stress distribution in functionally graded thermal barrier coatings (FG- TBC)

In this research, a numerical modeling was utilized to calculate the stresses caused during thermal cycling in a functionally graded thermal barrier coating (FG - TBC). The temperature – dependent material response of this protective material was taken into account and the effects of thermal cycle and interface morphology of the ceramic / metallic layer in functionally graded coating system wa...

A Multi-Physics Simulation Model Based on Finite Element Method for the Multi-Layer Switched Reluctance Motor

Using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, a multi-physics simulation model based on finite element method (FEM) is introduced for the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) in the present paper. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model usable for various conventional types of this motor and it is included electromagnetic, therm...

A model based, anatomy dependent method for ultra-fast creation of primary SPECT projections

Introduction: Monte Carlo (MC) is the most common method for simulating virtual SPECT projections. It is useful for optimizing procedures, evaluating correction algorithms and more recently image reconstruction as a forward projector in iterative algorithms; however, the main drawback of MC is its long run time. We introduced a model based method considering the eff...

A Dynamic Simulation of Annular Multiphase Flow during Deep-water Horizontal Well Drilling and the Analysis of Influential Factors

A gas kick simulation model for deep-water horizontal well with diesel-based drilling fluid is presented in this paper. This model is mainly based on the mass, momentum, and energy conservation equations. The unique aspect of this model is the fluid-gas coupling and the change of mud properties after the gas influx from the formation. The simulation results show that the gas in an annulus disso...
